As a grassroots, citizen-supported organization, our phenomenal volunteers are the backbone of our fight for clean water.
Last year Tennessee Riverkeeper cleanups collected over 12,000lbs of litter from our the Tennessee and Cumberland Rivers and their tributaries!
Our volunteers are always asking us "when's the next cleanup?!"
That call from our dedicated army of environmental advocates is why we're raising funds to expand our cleanup program in Tennessee and Alabama.
Any donation, even $5, allows us to grow our capacity to provide the tools and organizational might to rid our rivers of harmful litter pollution.
Our Executive Director, David Whiteside, says it best:
"I think in our divided country we ought to be looking at issues that unite us and in my opinion, water is one of the most unifying issues. Every single person needs clean water, we all have to drink clean water, we all have to bathe in it, we use it for cooking. It doesn't matter whether you're Republican or Democrat or Libertarian, or rich or poor, or black or white, this is an issue that unites us all."
